If you change your phone, accidentally delete Google Authenticator, lose your device, or can’t access your Google verification codes, you can change or reset Google Authenticator based on the scenarios below.
1. Switching to a New Device (Old Device Still Accessible)
If you still have access to your old phone/device and can receive BTCC Google verification codes normally, we recommend using Google Authenticator’s account transfer feature to move your verification codes to your new device.
Please refer to Google’s official guide based on your current device:
• iOS: See “Get Google Authenticator codes on a new phone” → “Transfer Authenticator codes to a new phone”
iOS Google Authenticator Transfer Guide
• Android: See “Get verification codes on a new phone” → “Transfer Google Authenticator codes to a new phone”
Android Google Authenticator Transfer Guide
Note: After the transfer is complete, make sure you can receive BTCC Google verification codes on your new device before removing the authentication data from your old device.
2. Accidentally Deleted Google Authenticator App or BTCC Account
If you saved or backed up the setup key provided by the BTCC app when you first bound Google Authenticator, you can use the original key to restore your BTCC Google verification codes.
1. Reinstall and open Google Authenticator.
2. Tap [+] and select the option to manually enter a setup key.
3. Enter your BTCC account name and your backed-up setup key.
4. Once added, you will be able to generate your BTCC 6-digit Google verification code again.
Note: If Google Authenticator is not installed on your phone/device, search for Google Authenticator in the App Store or Google Play and download it.
3. Old Phone/Device Lost or Unavailable, but the Setup Key Is Saved
If your old device is lost, damaged, or unavailable but you still have the original BTCC setup key, you can restore Google Authenticator directly on a new device.
1. Download Google Authenticator on your new device.
2. Add an account and select the option to manually enter a setup key.
3. Enter your backed-up BTCC setup key.
4. Once added, you will be able to generate BTCC Google verification codes again.
Note: After restoring, make sure the new verification code works correctly on BTCC.
4. Rebinding Google Authenticator on BTCC
If you can still log in to BTCC and complete security verification, you can change Google Authenticator directly in the BTCC App.
1. Log in to the BTCC App, tap the profile icon in the top-left corner of the Home page, and go to [Security Settings].
2. Find [Google Authenticator], tap [Change], and complete security verification as prompted.
3. A new setup key will be provided. Back it up securely, then rebind your BTCC account in the Google Authenticator App.
4. Tap [Next step], enter the new 6-digit Google verification code, and complete the change.
Note: After the change, use the new Google Authenticator code for future verification and keep the new setup key securely stored.
5. Lost Device and No Backed-Up Setup Key
If you:
• Cannot access your Google verification codes
• Have lost or cannot access your old device
• Did not save or back up your BTCC Google Authenticator setup key
You will not be able to restore Google Authenticator on your own. Please contact [Online Customer Support] for assistance with manually resetting Google Authenticator.
Important Notes
• For account security, withdrawals will be suspended for 24 hours after changing or resetting Google Authenticator. Please plan any related fund transfers accordingly.
• To process a manual reset, you may be required to provide additional identity or account information for security verification.
• Manual resets typically take 1–2 business days to process. Actual completion times may vary depending on the verification process. Please refer to the updates provided by customer support.
• Keep your setup key secure and never share your setup key or Google verification codes with anyone.
